“People want public services that work… providing high quality and cost effective public services is not easy”
The Committee of Public Accounts, HC 1530, 2005-06
The Committee of Public Accounts has seen many successful examples of high quality public services and some which have further to go in reaching the standards people expect. In July 2006 they published ten steps to a high quality service drawn from their reports and will judge effective delivery against this framework.
You can use this toolkit to look at the ten steps in more detail, see signs for success and a breakdown into self-assessment checklists. The checklists are linked to case studies from the National Audit Office’s past reports and to guidance.
