“We are concerned that some of the projects and programmes we examine have not always been well thought through or planned as well as they could be, taking account of lessons learned elsewhere.”
The Committee of Public Accounts, HC 742, 2005-06
The Committee of Public Accounts has highlighted seven aspects of service delivery which departments need to target to achieve better value for money and will judge effective delivery against this framework.
You can use this toolkit to look at the seven aspects in more detail and see signs for success and a breakdown into self-assessment checklists. The checklists are linked to case studies drawn from the National Audit Office’s past reports and to guidance from the NAO and other organisations.
