3rd Seminar
The 3rd EUROSAI-OLACEFS Seminar was hosted by the UK National Audit Office in London from 11- 14 May 2004. It attracted some 100 delegates from over 37 countries and representatives from the ECA, the INTOSAI Journal and IDI. Half the members of OLACEFS attended and a little more than half of EUROSAI.

Previous seminars
The first seminar was hosted by Spain's Tribunal de Cuentas in February 2000 in Madrid and took as its theme "Co-operation of Supreme Audit Institutions in the process of Integration and Globalisation".

The second seminar was held in Cartagena de Indias in Colombia in July 2002, hosted by the Contraloria General de la República, with the theme  "Audit Control Subjects: Progress and Prospectives"

 

EUROSAI & OLACEFS are two of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions' seven regional Working Groups.

OLACEFS - the organisation of Latin American and Caribbean Supreme Audit Institutions - was established in 1965; while EUROSAI, its European counterpart, was created in 1990.

The third EUROSAI-OLACEFS seminar was successfully completed as planned on 11-14 May 2004. The seminar debated wide-ranging issues concerning the impact of technological developments on SAIs. The conclusions and recommendations arising from both sub themes, The Experiences of SAIs and eGovernment and Training and Equipping Modern State Auditors for their role, are available in both English and Spanish on the web-site as are all the papers presented for discussion. In accordance with the recommendations a conference summary document is being prepared by the conference secretariat for presentation to the next EUROSAI and OLACEFS congresses as well as to the INCOSAI in Budapest and the INTOSAI IT Committee. When finalised, the summary will also be available on the web-site.
